QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
How should I care for and wash my Studio Nidra item?
Simple: More gentle is always better. Machine wash cold or at 30°C.
Use mild/sensitive detergent.
If you want to get the full, nerdy, inside-scoop: plant-based clothing is hydrophilic, so it doesn't need to be washed as vigorously (or as often) as other items you may have.
Plastic clothing is oligophilic, meaning it holds onto your bodily oils (ewww). Over time, they build up and get smelly.
We don't make plastic clothing, so you won't have that problem. No need to boil it.
What materials do you use?
Our activewear is made from next-gen plant-based performance materials.
We prioritize using materials that are kind to the planet and functional for movement.
These are typically quite new fabrics, developed with our friends at Pyratex®. There might even be some that you have never heard of.
Head over to our FABRICS page to read up on them.
Are your products 100% vegan?
Yes. Not only that, but they are also almost entirely plant-based.
What's the difference? Glad you asked:
Most other activewear products on the market use oil-based materials, such as nylon for durability and spandex (elastane) for stretch.
While vegan, they rely on non-renewable resources and end up as plastic in the landfill.
In contrast, our fabrics are primarily plant-based, making them more environmentally friendly (but also a lot more expensive to produce).
However, when it comes to plant-based elastane, the best available option (Creora® bio-based), currently still contains around 70% petroleum-based virgin material. That's why we currently prefer recycled elastane.
For instance, our leggings are composed of 86% microtencel (plant-based) and 14% recycled elastane.
So you see: when you require functional stretch, it's complicated.
It's worth noting that we are actively collaborating with our supplier to figure out 100% biobased and biodegradeable solutions in the future.
We are committed to continually improving the sustainability of our products and reducing our environmental impact.
Where are the pieces made?
We proudly produce all of our clothing in Portugal, ensuring responsible and ethical manufacturing practices while minimising our carbon footprint.
Our fabrics are produced in Portugal and Spain. Not only does that allow for the best quality, it also means that transportation ways are short.
Our socks on the other hand, are produced in Ukraine. The reason is that our friends are there and they allow us to do small-batch production with them.
Our factories are small, family-run businesses that share our values. They have all signed and committed to our Code of Conduct.

Do you involve customers in product development?
Absolutely! We love customer input and feedback. We believe in co-creating our products with our community to better meet your needs and preferences.
We frequently reach out to our community and through our newsletter to make sure we develop pieces that fit your lifestyle.
If you have feedback, miss a product or wish there was a better alternative for something you already own, please send your ideas and wishes to collective@studionidra.com
I love Studio Nidra - can I become an ambassador?
We understand that some big brands have deep pockets to get influencers to wear their brand.
We don't have that kind of marketing budget and there's three reasons for that:
- We are entirely self-financed - no big VC money.
- Ethical production in Europe requires much higher manufacturing cost.
- We made the decision to prioritize investing in the quality.
We found that if you produce something of outstanding quality in an ethical way, influencers are happy to rep it regardless.
If you have an audience and love our collections: we would love to hear from you and find out how we can collaborate.

I can not afford to pay full price. Can I get a discount?
We don't want price to be a showstopper for ethical consumption.
If your economical situation doesn't allow you to pay full price, please reach out to collective@studionidra.com and we'll see what we can do.
Do you offer discounts for Yoga/Movement teachers?
We know that teachers are not bankers and often struggle to make ends meet. That's why we offer discounts for movement teachers.
Send an email with a link to your studio profile, instagram, ytt certificate or something along the lines of that to collective@studionidra.com and we'll make a small discount happen :)
